Golden Award of Motreux

Harald Betke is an expert for communication as Visual Consultant, Strategist, Creative Director, Teacher and Speaker. He provides strategic advice, creative execution and event management.

He was educated at the Advertising Academy Vienna, but started his career as journalist. He owned his own Club and also organised concerts with acts like Rod Stewart, Stranglers, Phil Glass, Laurie Anderson.

In his career in advertising, he was the first Austrian shortlisted in Cannes Festival and won many international awards. He created campaigns for clients like ORF - Austrian television, Fashion TV, supermarket chains, political parties, government. Betke was responsible for global campaigns for Amnesty International and Greenpeace. He advises UNIDO as Visual Consultant and teaches science of communication at the University of Vienna, the Course of Studies University of applied arts, St. Gallen for Eventmarketing and is a regular speaker at international congresses. Harald Betke is founder of the Golden Award of Montreux.

Pete’s career, spanning digital marketing, public policy and brand management, has always put the consumer’s voice at the center. Before Nestlé, Pete was the CMO of NM Incite, a joint venture between Nielsen and McKinsey that integrated social insight into core business strategies. In his book “Satisfied Customers Tell Three Friends, Angry Customers Tell 3000: Running a Business in Today’s Consumer-Driven World” (Doubleday) Pete shares hundreds of experiences with Fortune 1000 companies working to improve the consumer conversation. While at P&G, he helped lead the company to Ad Age’s “1999 Interactive Marketer of the Year” distinction. He recently served as chairman of the board of the National Council of Better Business Bureaus and co-founded the Word-of-Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA). An Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) “Great Minds” award winner, Pete is a graduate of Harvard Business School and the University of California, Santa Cruz. 


President CFP-E, Founder at LES PRODUCERS
 In 1984, after having worked for 10 years at TBWA, Francois Chilot founded LES PRODUCERS. By adopting this name, the company was underlining its multicultural identity. In 2000, LES PRODUCERS entered the list of the 10 best production companies in the world at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. For the past 15 years, Francois Chilot has been President of CFP-E (Commercial Film Producers of Europe), which brings together the associations of advertising film producers from 17 European countries. CFP-E gathers 600 production companies throughout Western Europe.

CFP-E is the instigator of Young Director Award. YDA is the not-to-miss off event of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. YDA is the award, which is only aimed at promoting young talents.
CFP-E together with APA (UK) and AICP (USA) is also the instigator of the World Producers Summit (WPS), which gathers 100 producers from all parts of the world in Cannes.


Czech republic
  After having worked for some years as a graphic designer in the 90’s, Robert co-founded digital creative agency SYMBIO in 1999. At that time, the mission was simple – create websites that are more beautiful than any others from the design point of view. Over time, the agency’s profile moved a bit further, but the meticulous personality of its founders is still reflected in their desire for perfection.


Today Robert works together with 40 other people in SYMBIO and it's still the same fun as in the beginning. His aim is to bring SYMBIO on the foreign markets and to show that great digital work can also arise from the Czech Republic. Thanks to the amazing people that compose the agency, SYMBIO became a brand that attracts major clients and collects awards at home and abroad.   Having been in the ad business for over 20 years, Arno Lindemann started out in the most creative agencies of Germany, like Springer & Jacoby and Jung von Matt. At the age of 27, he became the youngest ever German Creative Director at Springer & Jacoby, where he Works for clients like Mercedes-Benz, Coca-Cola, Manager Magazin and many more. In 2004 he started his own creative agency, named LUKAS LINDEMANN ROSINSKI and directly won 9 LIONS at Cannes in the first year. His Agency became NEWCOMER AGENCY OF THE YEAR and since then ranked in the TOP 10 of germany’s most creative agencies & digital, every year. Arno Lindemann has been judging in all major international award shows for some time, and is still enjoying this „extra“ work!

Bechara started his career at Publicis Conseil in Paris in 1984. He then worked as a film director for three years, shooting more than a hundred commercials, before joining, in the early 90s, Leo Burnett MENA in Beirut as a Creative Director, where he first worked on local campaigns, putting his best efforts, with his teams, onto giving a humanly insightful and genuinely local new approach to Lebanese Advertising. As a result of this ongoing collective effort, Leo Burnett Beirut has constantly been across the years the most awarded Beirut-based agency in the world. Over the last five years, Bechara has substantially contributed to winning more than 275 international and regional prestigious awards. In January 2011, Bechara Mouzannar was named Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett for the Middle East and North Africa, overlooking the creative product of eleven offices in ten countries.


Head of EMEA - Global Creative Solutions
 Rob is Facebook’s Head of Global Creative Solutions for Europe, Middle East and Africa. His focus is to help brands to craft their stories on Facebook, by leveraging the power of social technology but most importantly human behaviours; delivering impactful creative ideas that both drive business results and add real value to users daily lives.

Prior to joining Facebook 3 years ago, Rob worked at Coca-Cola where he led the Powerade brand in addition to their expansion into energy drinks with Relentless. Rob also spent a number of years at Diageo in both the UK and Ireland working across a number of communications and sponsorships roles for Guinness. He started his career at Unilever where as a grad he learned his marketing trade.

Rob spends most of his time outside of work scrambling through muddy parks with his two daughters, cooking curries for friends and reminiscing about a rugby career that never was.

Peter is Client Partner, Czech at Facebook. He is based in Facebook’s Dublin office, but regularly travels to Prague and Bratislava to meet Facebook's Czech and Slovak clients and agencies and advice them on their campaigns strategies. Peter is passionate about shifting brands and their marketing efforts towards new, effective ways of brand story telling as well as maximizing results for their performance driven advertisers, optimizing their return on ad spend and investment.   Previous to joining Facebook, Peter worked as a Strategic Planner and Account Director for clients of various advertising, branding and digital agencies in Prague and London, BBDO, Y&R, TBWA and Lambie-Nairn, where he helped launch O2 brand to the Czech and Slovak markets. He kickstarted digital advertising in the Czech market back in the 90’s. As consumer behaviour and marketing evolves, he is always learning new ways and adapts his thinking and advice to clients based on what people want, rather than established norms.   He is a passionate photographer and also likes running, swimming and cycling. He loves spending time outdoors with his family, two kids and their dog.

Ivan is a Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather London. He’s worked on 3 continents doing everything from graphic design and art direction, to web and interaction design, illustration and occasional IT support. His work for brands like Dove, Audi, Philips and Shreddies has been awarded all over the world and a few lucky pieces have even found their way into textbooks, TED Talks and parody videos. He also likes to draw.

Ivana is a service designer with the Kindred Group. She is currently leading two projects where she applies service design as a technique for defining marketing strategies and helping brands to generate more valuable, human-centered encounters with their products and services. Her competence in field work is complemented with her various backgrounds, including professional engagements as a ballet dancer, foreign correspondent for the main Croatian daily and social worker with an educational program for children of Rocinha, a slum in Rio de Janeiro. Being a T-thinker, she takes advantage of her wide array of interests and experiences to build on real human insights as the starting point for designing experiences that will match the brand propositions.

George Prest has spent thirteen years in the industry working at top agencies across the traditional / digital spectrum. He began his career at BBH under John Hegarty, moved to Lowe to work for Ed Morris and now works for Bob Greenberg as VP, Executive Creative Director of R/GA London.

R/GA London has quadrupled in size in the three years that he has been there.

His work in posters, print, radio, television, art direction, copywriting, events, product design, usability, experience design, app design and microsites has been awarded by D&AD, One Show, Cannes, ANDYs, Clios, ADC, Webbys, Eurobest, Digitals, NY Festivals, Campaign Press, Posters and Big.

Will Rust got into advertising through necessity after being fired by McDonalds in 1992.

Swapping burgers for typography and art direction (on his Dad’s advice), he spent many years agency-hopping before deciding Ogilvy was the place to be.

Since his first ECD position, every single agency he has led has topped their national creative rankings, winning Agency of the Year titles left, right and in the middle too. He also helped deliver the Ukraine office the title of “Most effective agency in Europe” according to the 2012 Effie global index.

He has won awards made of metal, wood & paper at Cannes, Clio, D&AD, OneShow, London International and pretty much all the others.

Will now works for Ogilvy Czech Republic, one of the largest communications groups in central Europe and now the most awarded agency in the country.

He loves his cat, kids, music and wife. Not necessarily in that order.

Alex Schill was born with a Canadian passport and studied at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin.

In 1994 he started his career at Germany’s former hotshop agency No.1 Springer & Jacoby as a junior copywriter and was asked in 2003 to lead the agency as Chief Creative Officer. In 2006, Alex left Springer & Jacoby to become Global Chief Creative Officer, Member of the Board and Associate Partner at the Serviceplan Group. The Serviceplan Group (Serviceplan, Mediaplus, Plan.Net) is the biggest independent agency in Europe with around 1,400 employees. The agency runs offices in nine countries worldwide with clients like BMW, Lufthansa and O2.

Within 5 years Alex managed to push Serviceplan from nowhere to No. 2 in the German Creative Ranking and No. 9 worldwide (Big Won 2011).

Alex has won over 30 Cannes Lions and is listed No. 3 CCO worldwide (Big Won 2011).

Sergio is currently the Executive Creative Director at BCube Publicis in Milan, an art director, a copywriter, a scriptwriter, a Tv&Radio show writer, an advertising teacher and a member of the Art Directors Club Italy as well.

He started his career doing proper advertising, then he fell in love with new and alternative media – found out that fun is mixing it all together.

He worked for small, medium and big agencies on small, medium and big accounts.
He has been a juror for several local and international awards like the New York Festival, Art Directors Club Italy, Mobius, White Square, Red Apple, Chipshop Award and many more.

Alex is Mindshare’s EMEA digital leader, currently responsible for leading, managing, and developing all digital services across 50+ countries. He leads a community of digital employees across digital capabilities such as strategy, mobile, social marketing, paid search and performance marketing. He also oversees the global development of mobile and programmatic for Mindshare.

Recently he was nominated Online Media Man of the Year and he is ranked in the top 100 most influential people in media in the Netherlands.
Alex is known as a results-driven senior executive with a unique combination of operational, digital and creative experience. Alex is widely recognized as a passionate digital pioneer and entrepreneur in the online media market in the Netherlands.

He has received numerous industry honors such as the Spin awards (interactive), Amma Agency of the Year (twice), Dutch Search Engine Marketing award or Dutch email marketing award.

Walter Susini joined Unilever in January 2012 as Vice President Global Brands Creative and design excellence.  Appointed to create a new creative and innovative culture inside the Marketing team.

Before joining Unilever, from 2007 to 2012 he ran his own company (Alexandria – Land of generous ideas) focused in branding and innovation with offices in 4 countries (Mexico, Brasil, Argentina and Spain).

Before that he was for 5 years Regional and Global Creative excellence Director for The Coca-Cola Company creating some of the most iconic campaigns of the last 15 years (Coke side of life among others).  He spent most of his career in the advertising business being regional and global Strategic Planning director.

Walter is Italian and today he shares his life between London and Sao Paulo.

Filip is an awarded fencer, anthropologist, copywriter, idea-maker and creative director, focused on creating long-standing brand and creative strategies. By using service design as a tool to define brand’s purpose and transform it into a compelling customer experience, he strives to make marketing communication more relevant, socially engaging and effective. As a creative and a strategist, he helps brands realize opportunities for developing products, services and communication, based on real human insights and evolving media codes in the world of social networks. Filip gained his experience by working for BBDO Belgrade, Euro RSCG (Havas) Prague, Publicis Prague and Nydrle Digital. He is currently cooperating with Kindred Group on service design and other projects.

Nir is the founding partner and CEO of BrandOpus. He believes in a new approach to brand design and his vision for the agency is to apply this, transforming the brands he works with and enrich the commerciality of each client through the application of creativity where it matters.

Nir’s career spans 30 years in advertising and brand design at agencies such as FCB, Publicis, Lintas and JKR. Prior to that he studied in Israel and Switzerland, and gained an MBA in London.

Nir is a regular media contributor, and is a guest lecturer at London Business School on the topic of branding. When not hard at work, he is an avid supporter of Tottenham football club, keen reader of psychology and has an unlimited amount of strong views on almost everything!

Emma Wilkie has been Donald Gunn’s collaborator and co-presenter of The Gunn Report since January 2003.

Emma started her career in the Creative Department of top London agency DDB Needham Worldwide (now DDB London). She was also a scriptwriter for satellite television program European Business Weekly.

After a family break (working as a freelance on one-off projects) Emma came back as co-founder of Flaxman Wilkie, publisher of The Gunn Report 2003-2006. She created The Gunn Report company with Donald in 2007.

As well as focusing on the business and growth, Emma is also the person who researches and creates The Report and oversees production of the publication. She has been instrumental in The Gunn Report's growth to date.

 Prior to joining Google, Vanda united her professional career with the global marketing company Ogilvy, where she worked for over 22 years. She spent the last 10 years as Regional Director at Ogilvy One in Paris, at the time she was the only woman in the European management. In this position she was responsible for business development in the areas of telecommunications, information technology & digital media and she oversaw the development of branches in Central and Eastern Europe. While at the European headquarters of Ogilvy in Paris she also managed the development and support of her client IBM in Europe and the Middle East. The Paris team created a number of successful campaigns under her leadership, leading to international awards (eg. Effies, Horizont Interactive Awards, Digital Media Awards). Before going on maternity leave she was part of the global team in London, where she led the consulting team in change management and in the field of building effective marketing campaigns for global clients such as Unilever, AMEX, BA, Zurich Finance, etc. In 2000 she was named Woman of the Year, Věra Chytilová made ​​a documentary about her within her series Gen, and last year the Czech paper Hospodářské noviny ranked her among the most successful Czech women working abroad.

John joined McDonald’s Portugal in 2003 as Marketing Manager, taking on diverse responsibilities including the host country activation of the Euro 2004 tournament as an official sponsor. At the end of 2007, John was promoted to Marketing Director for Portugal and in September 2008 John was appointed to the role of Marketing Director for the Southern European region, overseeing 9 countries, providing strategic advice and support for markets as well as promoting cross-border projects to the benefit of the whole region. In 2011 he returns to Portugal as Marketing & Communications Director, with responsibility for National Marketing, Corporate Communication as well as Consumer & Business Insight.

Prior to joining McDonald’s, John spent 6 years at Procter in Gamble starting out as a Financial Analyst and progressing into a marketing role, working on different business categories as well as taking responsibility for European projects while based in Geneva.



Folker started into advertising in 1993, at OgilvyOne in Frankfurt, Germany. Within his ten years at Ogilvy, he was a key factor in transforming the agency into the country's most creative direct marketing agency.

After ten years of direct and digital, he moved on to big consumer brands and advertising, at Leo Burnett in Frankfurt, and then into shopper marketing at Saatchi & Saatchi X. During this time, Folker was accepted as a member of the German Art Directors Club. His profound integrated experience led to leadership positions at Publicis and at McCann. In December 2013, he founded Wrage/Antwort, a consulting agency focusing on delivering creative answers to business problems. He is currently on assignment for his previous employer McCann Erickson.

Folker has been a judge in Cannes, at the Art Directors Club, at Golden Drum, the New York Festival, the Cristal Festival, and The John Caples Awards. At this year's Kiev International Advertising Festival, he had the honour of serving as jury president.
